(WHAS11)- As tough as it may have been to watch Edgar Sosa's injury, the amount of support for the former cardinal has been bountiful.
Sosa fractured his leg, breaking both his tibia and fibula. It happened with just under 38 seconds to play. Since then, social media has exploded with concern.
Coach John Calipari, who is leading the Dominican team, tweeted a picture of a smiling Sosa Tuesday.
Here are a few of them; NBA point guard Chris Paul tweeted “Just heard my homie @EdgarSosa10 suffered a tough injury 2day while playing w/his national team...ur in my prayers bro and get well soon!!!”
Sosa's teammate Charlie Villanueva typed up “My man Edgar Sosa, hanging in there, praying for a speedy recovery, love u kid.”
And ESPN analyst Jay Bilas chimed in “Best wishes to former U of L guard Edgar Sosa, injured today playing for Dominican Republic. I know Sosa as a really nice young man. Get well!”
The extent of the injury would take an immense amount of rehab and some are considering it possibly career ending. No word as to whether that's the case.
