LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – We're finding out more about the man shot and killed by police after robbing a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Fern Creek Sunday.
Twenty-nine-year-old Carlos Runyon was the man police said held KFC employees before fleeing with one hostage. He was shot and killed by police on Beulah Church Road after a short chase.
Ofc. Russell Carver is the officer investigators said shot Runyon – he has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Runyon has a criminal history in Louisville dating back to 2001 – including multiple drug and weapon charges.
Runyon's father spoke to WHAS11’s Karma Dickerson and said he thinks his son being out of work got to him.
