A Jefferson County resource teacher pleaded not guilty in a Meade County court room Wednesday morning after she was accused of killing her husband in front of the couple's four children.

Police said Anne Reardon shot and killed her husband,  45-year-old Daniel Reardon, after an argument July 5. Police also said she called it in as an accidental shooting.

WHAS11 News checked into the couples background, but only found traffic violations. According to the Meade County Circuit Court Clerk, there were no signs of violence in the couple's records.

The court is still working to determine if Anne Reardon qualifies for a public defender. She's being held in the Meade County Detention Center. She'll have another court date next week.
