LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man has been arrested on charges of assault after police say a verbal argument turned physical.

According to a police report, Kenneth Brown, 28, struck a 60-year-old woman in the head. The report says the victim requires assistance with her daily needs.

When the victim attempted to call police Brown took her phone to prevent her from calling for help, according to the police report.

Brown was arrested by police for assault in the fourth degree along with a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Brown was also charged with intimidating a participant in the legal process.

The report says Brown is the boyfriend of the victim's stepdaughter and currently living in the victim's home.
