LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Police arrested a couple after a detective observed the two smoking marijuana with their young child in the car.
According to police reports, Kayla Nichting, 21, and SJohn Dixon, 37, were not wearing their seat belts. The report says detectives saw Nichting and Dixon passing something back and forth. Detectives smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming out of the vehicle.
The report says Nichting was holding a lit marijuana blunt with the couple's young child in her lap.
Police then discovered two bags of marijuana under the driver's seat.
Nichting and Dixon are facing charges of drug possession, first degree wanton endangerment and not wearing a seat belt.
