OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Oldham County law enforcement say they never chased the two teens who were killed in a high speed crash over the weekend.
The Oldham County sheriff's department says 15-year-old Michael Wheat initially pulled over when a deputy stopped him for driving without headlights. But as the deputy approached the car on foot, he says Wheat took off at a "high rate of speed."
Oldham County police say just after Wheat drove by their officers at 118 miles per hour, the car crashed, killing Wheat and his 14-year-old girlfriend, Autumn Foree.
