(WHAS11) -- The days of slathering your skin with sunscreen may soon be over. Scientists are working on a sunscreen pill. The goal is to allow the body to block UV rays from the inside out.
British researchers got the idea underwater. Coral has its own natural barrier to UV radiation. Scientists want to take those chemicals and put it in pill-form.
The pills are at least five years away from consumers. The pills are labeled "sun protection pills" or "tanning pills," but dermatologists say the supplements may not give you any protection.
