LOUISVILLE, Ky.  --  A Louisville woman has been arrested after police said she stole jewelry from an elderly woman during an altercation at a local Walmart.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, Teresa Beeler, 42, took a necklace and two charms from an elderly woman after a physical altercation when she was initially trying to steal the woman's purse.

The incident occurred on June 20 at a Walmart in Pleasure Ridge Park and resulted in only a small cut on the elbow of the victim. Beeler immediately fled the scene and pawned the stolen items at a Cash America on Dixie Highway according to police reports.

Both the robbery and the pawning of the jewelry were caught on surveillance tape. After being arrested, police said Beeler admitted to the crimes in a recorded statement.

Beeler was taken into custody a day after the alleged incidents and is facing a 2nd degree robbery charge.
