LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Jefferson County Public Schools voted Monday evening to allow students to have cell phones in the classroom at 8 local high schools to help them learn.

Principals can now get a waiver and submit a plan saying how the phones will be utilized for education and not recreational purposes.

Many believe allowing cell phones will help students in the learning process.
