LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A former manager at Shiraz Mediterranian Grill in Louisville is facing theft charges.
Police said Brendan Zirnheld would alter the amount of receipts to increase his own tips. Allegedly, Zirnheld would go in to the computerized cash register, void the amount of a check – lowering the purchase amount and increasing the tip amount to match the total of the original bill. Police said he would then open the register and take the altered tip amount.
Police said Zirnheld stole roughly $40,000 between September and April.
The thefts allegedly happened at both Shiraz locations - Frankfort Avenue and Poplar Level Road.
