LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Police have cleared the scene of a serious accident on Bardstown Road at Waterford.
The accident happened just before 7 a.m. Friday morning and shut down the roadway in both directions for a few hours.
Police said five people were taken to area hospitals: Three adults to University of Louisville Hospital, one child to Kosair children's Hospital and one to Bullitt County Hospital. Police did not comment on the extent of any injuries.
Bardstown Road has since reopened but cause a heavy back up in the area while crews worked to clear the accident.
