BUTLERVILLE, Ind. -- Two people were arrested on Monday afternoon at a home in Jennings County, Ind. after a lengthy investigation and court-ordered warrant.

According to police, the arrests come after an eight month investigation by members of the Jennings County Sheriff's Office that focused on the delivery, sale and use of heroin in that community.

Police arrested Michael Bowling and his girlfriend, Jennifer Jones, at a home in Campbell Township Monday.  Police said that after arresting Bowling and Jones on warrants, they obtained a warrant to search throughout their home. In that search, police found cell phones, scales, marijuana, syringes, and other paraphernalia used in the distribution of heroin and other illegal drugs, police said in a news release.

Police said during the course of that investigation, officers made three purchases of drugs from Bowling.  Police said they believe Bowling was a major source of heroin coming into the county this summer.

Michael Bowling, 34, is charged with dealing narcotics and possession of narcotics.  Jennifer Jones, 31, is also facing drug charges. Police said more charges are pending for her.

Both Bowling and Jones are being held at the Jennings County Jail.
