Kelsey Starks

Anchor/Reporter

Kelsey is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky, and she began her television career in high school.

She went on to earn her bachelor's in journalism from the University of Kentucky and holds a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.

She has worked extensively both in front of and behind the camera. She was an associate producer in New York City for both Court TV and MSNBC.

She produced specials and news coverage for high-profile trials like Kobe Bryant, Martha Stewart and Laci Peterson. She also produced prime time shows like Forensic Files and other documentaries.

In Chicago, she produced and anchored for the PBS affiliate, WTTW as part of the Medill News Service.

She also worked as a Washington correspondent for WKYT in Lexington, Kentucky, reporting from the Washington, DC bureau on Kentucky lawmakers.

From Washington, she moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where she was a reporter, fill-in anchor and producer for WCIV, an ABC affiliate.

She covered national stories like hurricanes, the democratic presidential debate and the fire that killed nine Charleston fire fighters.

But she's most happy right here in Kentucky, where many of her friends and family live.

When she's not working, Kelsey likes spending time with those friends and family in town, especially her husband, Chris, their new daughter, Riess, and their black lab, Guinness.
