Karma Dickerson joined the WHAS 11 News Team in March of 2012.
She moved from Yakima, Wash. where she was a reporter and fill-in weather anchor. As a general assignment reporter she covered everything from the Washington Apple Industry to the growing gang problem in Central Washington. However she was most interested in stories relating to politics, immigration, the changing demographics of the area, and what that meant for her viewers.
Karma is drawn to journalism because she is innately analytical and inquisitive. She loves to know things and share that information with others. That passion drives her not only to bring people the stories that are important to them, but also ones they aren’t aware affect them.
Although Karma liked the Northwest, and is excited to be in Louisville, her heart is in Southern California where she was born and raised. The Los Angeles area native graduated from UCLA with a major in mass communications and a minor in Spanish.
However as much as she loves LA, she lives to travel. Her favorite countries so far are Greece and Egypt, but Thailand is a pretty close third. The sometime runner is also training for her eighth marathon. And when she can squeeze it in, you can find her checking out Louisville’s salsa dance scene. Karma can’t wait to see what other adventures Louisville has to offer.
