Michelle Arnold is elated to be back in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Michelle joined WHAS11 in July 2011 after spending a few years west of the Bluegrass.
Her career began in Los Angeles, as a reporter for TVG. Coming from Kentucky, horseracing was a familiar topic for Michelle; it didn’t take her long to get used to the year-round California sunshine!
She spent much of her time at Hollywood Park, Del Mar, Santa Anita and Keeneland interviewing track-goers for her “Gallop Poll” segment. When not at the track, she served as TVG Community Correspondent and also worked in the graphics department.
Michelle’s next job took her from the sunshine to the snow in Davenport, Iowa. There she anchored and produced multiple newscasts a day that aired across the country, one of those happened to be the local news broadcast on Indiana 9. She also produced a weekly report called “Diet on a Dime”, helping people eat healthy while on a budget.
Michelle graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She is the oldest of seven children. She enjoys cheering on her Louisville Cardinals (yes, despite being a UK grad), working out and scoping out the best hole in the wall restaurants in Louisville. She also loves volunteering at Necole’s Place, a branch of A Woman’s Choice Resource Center in downtown Louisville.
Michelle would love to hear from you and welcomes your story ideas or traffic information. You can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
