LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- President Obama has already authorized air strikes on the terrorist group ISIS, the group claiming responsibility for the beheading of American journalist James Foley.

Now, there is word that some Americans are fighting alongside the militant group. In fact, a 33-year-old rapper, Douglas McCain, was allegedly killed over the weekend fighting with ISIS.

It's a complicated picture and now, there is a real possibility that the US could be conducting air strikes in both Iraq and Syria.

Former Brigadier General Rob Givens weighs in on the situation in the video player above.
