(WHAS11) -- A Colombian clothing company is responding to the Sandy Hook shooting by creating bulletproof clothes for kids.
The Miguel Callabero Company says it hopes to tap into a new market for their clothes. The items will cost a few thousand dollars per item.
The owner says that American customers started contacting them right after the massacre in Newtown saying they were scared to take their kids to school.
Right after the December shooting the demand for bulletproof backpacks caused a Utah-based manufacturer's website to crash.
