BEIRUT (AP) — A video supplied by activists includes scenes of the carnage today at a mosque in the city of Aleppo that the activists say was being used as a school.

They say a crude bomb dropped by Syrian forces today killed at least 11 people at the mosque. It's the latest example of the increased use of barrel bombs. The devices are packed with fuel, explosives and scrap metal and are hurled from helicopters -- sometimes indiscriminately.

According to a British-based Syrian activist group, about 80 people have been killed since Thursday by barrel bombs used by President Bashar Assad's forces to try to dislodge rebels from Aleppo.

The bombing was one of at least seven such attacks in the city today.
