UPS pilots, Independent Pilots Association agree to labor deal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- UPS pilots and the Independent Pilots Association agreed on a new 5-year labor deal Wednesday.

The new agreement gives pilots an immediate increase of more than 14.5 percent in pay and another three percent annual increase. Captains will also receive a $60,000 signing bonus and First Officers will receive a $40,000 signing bonus.

An increased focus on crew rest rounds out the major agreements reached after nearly five years of negotiating.
