I-71 NB reopens after semi catches fire near Gene Snyder

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- After being shut down for hours Wednesday night due to a multiple-car accident,  I-71 has reopened.

Dispatch confirmed the wreck involved a tractor tailer and at least four passenger cars. It occurred in the northbound lanes of I-71 at the 10.2 mm, that is just past the Gene Snyder just before 7 p.m.

The tractor trailer caught fire but responders were able to put out the blaze before it cause further damage.

Jefferson County emergency responders were assisted by Oldham County units.

No injuries were reported.
