Sellersburg, Ind. (WHAS11) -- We're used to seeing many commercial planes flying around, but have you noticed a different plane flying around this weekend?

The World War II plane that inspired two movies, the Memphis Belle, has been soaring over Kentuckiana taking people on tours.

When the plane was on the ground people were able to check out the inside. The Memphis Belle is on its first national tour after going through a costly restoration at the Air Force base in Dayton.

“We have just a great time sharing it with families and veterans and talking to them about what our air crews did during world war two,” John Shuttleworth, pilot of the Memphis Belle, said.

This airplane was converted into a replica of the original Memphis Belle and it was used in the 1990 film.
