Westminster Dog Show welcomes 2 new breeds
The Boykin spaniel is a versatile and compact gundog. The breed was developed in the early 1900s in the Midlands of South Carolina to fill the need of local hunters for a smaller retriever for hunting waterfowl. It was one of the six new breeds eligible to compete in the 2011 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. (AP Photo)
