LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Before the horses take the track for Derby 138, local students went head-to-head in the kindergarten Derby.
Every year, the students decorate their own stick horses, and gallop around the church gym at Second Presbyterian Weekday School.
The school limits its Derby to heats of five or six students.
Pre-schoolers filled out the mini-Derby Festival with paper bag jockey silks and their own great balloon race.
