SEYMOUR, Ind. (PRESS RELEASE/WHAS11) -- Seymour police arrested two suspects early Tuesday morning in connection with the robbery of a PNC Bank branch Monday afternoon.
Police said Brittany Engle, 21, of Austin, and Franklin D. Skirvin III, 23, Lexington, were questioned and arrested early Tuesday by Detective Greg O'Brien and Detective Chris Franklin in Scott County. They were later taken to the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown.
Engle was booked in on a Class B felony charge of robbery, and Skirvin was held on a Class B felony charge of conspiracy to commit robbery, according to jail records. Bond was set at $50,000 each.
Police say that some of the money thought to have been stolen from the PNC office on East Tipton Street was recovered. No weapons were recovered.
A surveillance camera photo of a female suspect robbing the bank led to a tip in the case.
"A caller ID'd the photo off the Internet and called the Scott County Sheriff's Department and told them where the suspects could be found," Abbott said. "Officers went there and found them."
Abbott said O'Brien and Franklin and O'Brien interviewed Engle and Skirvin at the Scott County Jail in Scottsburg. He said both confessed to the crime.
