BUCKNER, Ky. (WHAS11) --One person was killed and two others injured in a multi-vehicle accident Thursday morning on I-71 north in Oldham County.

Police say a Chrysler traveling southbound on I-71 crossed the median and struck a red Jeep that was traveling northbound. The Chrysler was then hit by a tractor trailer. The driver of the Chrysler, 27-year-old Ian Connin, was killed as a result of that accident.

The driver of the red Jeep, identified as 50-year-old Mary Casebier, was transported to University of Louisville Hospital. Her condition has not been released.

The truck driver and the driver of another car that swerved to avoid the accident were both not seriously injured.

One lane of both I-71 north and south was shut down for several hours - both lanes have since reopened.
