History and myths associated with Friday the 13th
When the 13th day of the month falls on a Friday it is generally considered bad luck in western tradition. Thought to derive from Christian tradition, the Ancient Persians, the Norse pantheon and even the Knights Templar, the modern technical term for fear of Friday the 13th is triskaidekaphobia, which stems from the fear of the number 13.
