LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A community basketball tournament that helped to produce some of the most promising basketball players in the country is now back in Louisville.
Basketball players and fans were out at Shawnee Park Saturday afternoon for the return of the Dirt Bowl.
The community basketball tournament started in 1969 but was canceled several years ago.
Several basketball players who participated in the Dirt Bowl in past years include Clem Haskins, Jim McDaniels, Dan Issel, Wes Unseld, Darryl Griffith and Derek Anderson.
The tournament will continue every weekend through August 12th, when they will play the championship game.
