Photos: Wildlife Center of Texas rescues homeless babies

The recent ice storm left hundreds of baby animals, like this cottontail bunny, homeless when their nests were knocked from falling tree branches. Workers at the Wildlife Center of Texas are taking care of the little ones until they are ready to be released back into the wild.

HOUSTON – The recent ice storm not only caught people by surprise, it caused havoc for Houston’s wildlife.

When frost covered trees and branches fell, many newborn squirrels, bunnies and birds were knocked out of their nests.

Wildlife Center of Texas workers are taking care of the little ones until they're ready to be released into the wild.
