Everyone loves a day at the beach. There are gentle shores for families, stretches of heavy surf for the active set and secluded coves for romance-seekers. But perhaps no one loves the beach more than partiers. After all, nothing gets an unforgettable party started faster than warm sand between your toes, an ice-cold drink in your hand, the glow of a fresh tan and a whole lot of nothing to do.

Matador Network's new travel guide, 101 Places to Get F*cked Up Before You Die, features hilarious-yet-useful advice, stunning photography and plenty of fun destination ideas. But the section on beaches stands out. As the book's editor, David Miller, says, "There's an innate sensuality to being in the sun, being by the water. Of wearing less (no?) clothes. Swimming, surfing, diving. Eating local food." Here, Matador shares their ultimate beach-party bucket list with USA TODAY, so raise your glass and take a tour of the 15 best beaches for a rockin' good time:

1. Tel Aviv, Israel

Israel's financial hub sure knows how to throw a party. Business licensing is lax here, which means there's always a new hotspot on the scene, with new clubs sometimes literally popping up overnight. News spreads on the beach, so skip the recommendations in the guidebook and catch a few rays while chatting up some locals to find where the pulse is beating that night.

2. Cape Town, South Africa

The city's gorgeous location — tucked between green mountains and the convergence of two oceans — means that anywhere in Cape Town will be the best seat in the house. There are plenty of beach bars handy, but for a truly unforgettable experience keep your ear to the ground for any Psy Trance parties, where the dancing at scenic pop-up venues doesn't stop for days — literally.

3. Goa, India

At the end of India's infamous Hippie Trail lies Goa, a beachside perch that's somehow home to both mellow yogic living and night-long debauchery. Spend your days perfecting your warrior pose, looking out over the ocean, and your nights raging at Silent Noise. Pull on a wireless headset and see what the crowd is tuning into.

4. Los Angeles

Get wasted with the A-list in the home of Hollywood. It's hard to go wrong here — join the crowds that throng Venice Beach's boardwalk to suntan and day drink or spend a little time getting loud with the ex-hair-band types that roam the Sunset Strip. Once dusk approaches, grab some margaritas from El Chavito in bohemian neighborhood Los Feliz and then end the night in Tiki-Ti, America's longest-running tropical drinks bar.

5. Phuket, Thailand

This little island is a veritable powder keg. At any given moment, Matador says, "fireworks will explode, strangers will begin wrestling in the street and sultry women will magically materialize well within your personal space." Rent a beach chair, spike your fresh coconut milk with a little rum and watch it all unfold.

6. Halifax, Canada

Canada isn't the first place you might think of for a beach party, but from April to September this college town in Nova Scotia really lets loose. Hop onboard a party boat, grab a pint of the local beer and rock the boat on the tall ship's dance floor.

7. Zanzibar, Tanzania

Tanzania's 17th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site bustles with activity. Spend your days exploring the city's cultural heart in the mosques or sipping cool Kilimanjaro beers on its pristine shores. Be sure to plan your visit around the monthly Kendwa Rocks full-moon party, a sloppy, dance-till-sunrise-on-the-sand that's worth the drive.

8. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Swanky beachside resort town Cabo San Lucas has been a tourist hotspot for years, especially with the spring break crowd. You'll never have to leave the sand to find a good party here. Just head over to Mango Deck, where employees wander the beach armed with tequila-filled water pistols, ready to spray enthusiastic patrons.

9. Barcelona

Barcelona is a wild ride no matter where you end up, with the drinking often not starting until past midnight. On a clear day, nurse your hangover at La Barceloneta, a semi-nude beach where you can take in the sights of sexy students or doze off while soaking in the Spanish sun (just keep your belongings within reach).

10. Melbourne, Australia

Australia's young, boisterous drinking culture is at its best in Melbourne, where the highly efficient tram network ensures that your revelry will cover a lot of ground. Venture further south to St. Kilda for some skid-row wantonness. A beachside mix of backpackers, prostitutes, tattoo shops, late-night bars, and the Jewish quarter of Balaclava, St. Kilda seems to be the natural conclusion to a night of debauchery.

11. Ibiza, Spain

Ibiza is on every partier's bucket list, and for good reason. The beaches here are tops and there are more bars than you could possibly count. Shuffle to house music with the never-tiring crowd in Space or get the closest thing to downtime in this town by sipping on a cocktail in San Antonio. You'll have no doubt why the rich and famous flock here by the time you leave.

12. Raglan, New Zealand

Where there are waves, there are surfers. Where there are surfers, there are parties. As a beachside town with stellar point waves, Raglan attracts an international crowd of surfers and artists who never seem to get around to leaving. Bring an eighteen-pack of New Zealand Lager to The Barn and be prepared to play a few drinking games you'll never remember.

13. Charleston, S.C.

This beach city keeps the Southern charm turned all the way up. Hit Vendue Inn or Blind Tiger Pub to hobnob with the polo-shirt and string-of-pearls set, or try to run into local Bill Murray while grabbing a brew at Tbonz Gill and Grill.

14. Bali, Indonesia

Bali is where most of Indonesia's 3 million annual travelers start and end their trips. This city parties 24/7, and the 565-foot stretch on Jalan Legian is where it all goes down. Expect everything at once: street noise, hawkers, pumping discos and thousands of drunken revelers. Hit up popular beach bar Eikon for the free drink hours and bar-top dancing.

15. Utila, Honduras

Known as "The Rock" by backpackers, dive bums and drunken revelers alike, the smallest of Honduras' Bay Islands is harder to leave than Alcatraz. There are only a few bars scattered down two streets, but with pristine beaches and a constantly changing crowd of travelers, the party never ends.
