SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Michael Hutchence, lead singer and songwriter of the Australian rock band INXS, speaking to reporters at a press conference in 25 September 1996, has been found dead 22 November at an upmarket hotel in Sydney. Police called to the Ritz Carlton Hotel in the affluent Sydney Harbour suburb of Double Bay refused to comment on the cause of death, but some media reported Hutchence was found hanged.
