MUHAMMAD ALI: WILL HE HELP OPEN THE LONDON GAMES?
LONDON (AP) -- It's a scene that still sends chills up the spine: a frail and shaking Muhammad Ali leaning over to light the Olympic torch at the start of the Summer Games in Atlanta in 1996. The three-time former heavyweight champion is in London, where the Games officially open tomorrow. And that has led to speculation that Ali might have some role in the opening ceremony. British newspapers say Ali may have something to do with the opening event. And even his brother is hinting that may be possible. He notes his brother "makes decisions at the last minute." Ali's movements and speech have been slowed by Parkinson's syndrome.
