NEW YORK (AP) -- Estelle takes her time between hits. She says her first record, "Night and Day," was four years before "American Boy," and then it was three more years before her latest single, "Thank You," took off. She says she writes in life cycles rather than what fans or the music business expects. Estelle likes to compare her music to fast food versus your mom's home cooking.
