On Monday, Nov. 6, another 15-year-old was arrested in this case.

Spencer was walking with his wife after meeting with family on Sunday at Cherokee Triangle when an altercation started between the 15-year-olds and Spencer and his wife. Shots were fired during the altercation and that is when police say Spencer was fatally wounded and one 15-year-old was injured.

The injured teen was found in the Park Hill neighborhood. He was treated at the hospital for his injury and was, again, taken into police custody on Monday.

The identities of both teens would likely remain out of public record unless they are charged as adults.

In response to what police called a random attack, the LMPD Major who covers the Cherokee Triangle area where the murder occurred, increased police patrols in the area as part of an effort and plan by Metro Council District 8 Councilman Brandon Coan.

A peace walk was also held Wednesday with residents and officers.

This investigation is ongoing. LMPD asks anyone with information regarding this incident to contact them at 574-LMPD (5673).
