HOUSTON—A pregnant woman said two men barged into her southwest Houston home Friday and held her at gunpoint.

“It was horrible. I really thought I was going to die. I really thought it was going to die,” said the victim, who is 8-months pregnant.

It was just after 11 a.m. when she heard the knock on her door in the 4300 block of Breakwood.

“I thought I recognized him, I thought he was a neighbor so I did open the door,” she said.

That’s when she said the man pushed his way in and pulled out a gun, demanding the family’s safe. She told him there isn’t one.

“We kind of wrestled at the entrance and we kind of wrestled in the living room,” she said.

It all happened as her 18-month-old son was just feet away.

“This is why I told him, please don’t hurt me. Don’t hurt me. Take what you want, just don’t hurt me,” she said.

She said the gunman, then another, began searching her house.

Then she made a run for it.

“I took my child and run through the side door and called 911 from the neighbor’s house and they were still in the house,” she said.

But she said the robbers left with nothing.

Police found a pick-up truck, the suspected getaway vehicle, about a mile and half away on West Belfort. The gunmen were gone.

The victim has advice for others.

“I’m telling you, please be careful when you open the door,” she said. “Even if you think you know the person, like I thought I did, just be careful. Be careful.
