GOP explore restoring ex-house speaker Hoover

There are indications that Jeff Hoover could get his job back as Speaker of the Kentucky House, even after he resigned last month after a sexual harassment claim.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – There are indications Jeff Hoover could get his job back as Speaker of the Kentucky House even after he resigned last month after a sexual harassment claim.

Some of Hoover’s allies in the state legislature have a plan to possibly make that happen.

Lawmakers say attorneys for the Republican House Caucus have told them Hoover’s resignation is not official because it hasn’t been accepted by the House which legally doesn’t exist unless they are in session.

Right now, GOP representative Richard Heath is gaging support to see if the caucus would support bringing Hoover back.

Hoover denied sexual harassment but said he sent consensual but inappropriate text messages to a woman who worked for the House Republican Caucus.

He kept his seat in the legislature.
