LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Since Senator Rand Paul has been in Louisville during the weekend, there’s been more war of words brewing between he and New Jersey governor Chris Christie.
Paul says he and Christie will continue to disagree over national security and other issues but says the Republican party is big enough to accommodate their views.
“The party is big enough for both of us. It’s big enough for a lot of different Republicans. And in fact, we don’t need to – this all started with him saying we don’t have room for Libertarian Republicans. The thing is, that is how we grow our party,” Paul said.
Christie is considered a moderate whose views on government spending differ sharply from the Libertarian Paul.
The two men who are said to be potential rivals for president in 2016 have been battling it out for weeks.
