LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is coming off of a big weekend and now an editorial he wrote for “Time” is getting a lot of attention.
Paul, who is from Bowling Green, said if he were president he would take a harder stance against the Russian president for his actions in Crimea.
He says Vladimir Putin's "invasion of Ukraine is a gross violation of that nation's sovereignty."
Paul is coming off a big weekend at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland after speaking there and winning the annual CPAC Straw Poll.
More than 30 percent of those that attended picked Paul as the leading contender for the Republican nomination for president.
