LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Thousands of veterans will be converging on Louisville later this month for the annual Veterans of Foreign Wars national convention.
The event is scheduled for July 20-25 at the downtown Kentucky International Convention Center.
More than 10,000 delegates are expected to attend the event, and officials predict it will generate more than $5 million of economic activity for Louisville.
McConnell and Paul will both be speaking at the convention on Monday, July 22. Senator McConnell will speak right before Paul at the convention.
Delegates will attend workshops, vote on organizational bylaws and hear presentations from guest speakers.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars organization has more than 1.5 million members. The VFW advocates for veterans' rights and benefits.
Senator Paul will also host a forum on economic and community development issues with state and local officials while in town.
