LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—On Friday night Senator Rand Paul was the keynote speaker at the “Party for the Party” rally.

Paul linked support for fully restoring voting rights for convicted felons with the night’s overall message, the GOP’s need to appeal to minority voters.

The ballroom was packed, but was not a diverse crowd.

Nathan Haney, chair of the Jefferson County Republican Party, said the group will be holding meetings in west and southwest Louisville to bring their message to the minority voters.

This was not an official campaign event, but both of Kentucky’s Senator’s were side-by-side, but didn’t acknowledge each other in their comments.
