From the AP:

Sarah Palin is defending her endorsement of Rand Paul in the Republican primary for Kentucky's U.S. Senate seat.
Palin was asked on "Fox News Sunday" about criticism of her support for Paul, a Bowling Green eye surgeon who is the son of former Republican presidential candidate and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas.
Palin called Paul a "federalist" who "wants the states to have more say." She added that she doesn't agree with Paul on every issue, but she liked him because he stands for "limited government."
Palin was criticized by Bill Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, who pointed out that Paul is in favor of closing the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba, repealing the Patriot Act and leaving drug law enforcement to the states.
Paul is facing Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the May primary election.

It is important to note that Dr. Paul is not in favor of closing Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. He stated this in his interview with Joe Arnold, and his recent commercial solidifies his position on this issue. Kristol must have got his talking points from the Grayson campaign, because they are obviously inaccurate.

Actually, in the interview with Joe Arnold he did articulate that he was for closing Gitmo. You should listen more carefully.

It is also important to note (although the media never does) that Kristol is far from a real conservative. Here are some easily verifiable Kristol quotes: "The Republican Party's platform on abortion, which would effectively outlaw the practice, is very much a minority view, according to public opinion polls. Look, I was for changing the abortion plan. It's just that Bush didn't have the credibility with the prolife forces to carry it off. Everyone knew that plank was anachronistic in 1992." .....and....."I’m a liberal on immigration" ....and ...... "I am pro-immigration, and I am even soft on illegal immigration.".....and....."If you read the last few issues of The Weekly Standard, it has as much or more in common with the liberal hawks than with traditional conservatives." The devil is in the details, as they say.

Um, "leaving drug laws up to the states" is federalist. I guess, as Kristol himself says, he just more of a liberal war-hawk than a conservative. Thank you Palin!
