(WHAS11) -- And on Friday, March 1, for the first time Senator Mitch McConnell weighed in, kind of, on the possibility that Judd might run against him in next year's U.S. Senate race.
A reporter asked McConnell about Ashley Judd possibly challenging him and McConnell said this, “we'll talk about next year's race when it gets here."
McConnell also talked about the automatic spending cuts which are set to take effect by midnight Friday. Senator McConnell says lawmakers need to come up with a way to cut spending. Lawmakers say the $85 billion in cuts will not be felt immediately.
