LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A speech delivered by U.S Senate candidate Matt Bevin in Louisville last week is the basis of a new web video released by his campaign, Wednesday.

The speech narrates the two minute video as Bevin challenges five-term GOP incumbent Mitch McConnell.

"If we want to truly change the failed policies of Washington, DC, it is imperative that we change the self-serving career politicians that are continuing to haunt the halls of Congress," Bevin is heard saying as the video begins over images of the nation's capitol.

The Louisville investment adviser hopes to unseat McConnell in the Republican primary this May. The video highlights the tug-of-war within the GOP as several conservative groups, such as the Senate Conservatives Fund and the Madison Project are backing Bevin over the Senate Minority Leader.

McConnell's campaign has disputed some of the headlines used by Bevin in the video and has questioned the motives of the conservative groups backing Bevin.
