Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - A Louisville businessman running against Congressman John Yarmuth says he has a plan to bring more jobs to Louisville.

Republican Larry Hausman wants to grant tax breaks to businesses who hire.

He's proposing that employers who hire new employees over their average number of employees for the last three months get a double tax deduction for salary or hourly wages.

Hausman says the election of Scott Brown and recent polls are keeping him positive about the race.

"I'm feeling very optimistic ...the recent events in Massachusetts are encouraging , also encouraged by the polls that say five fewer democrats are likely to show up for the mid terms and 12% more republicans are likely to show up," says Hausman.

Hausman is a commercial real estate broker and financial consultant.
