(WHAS11) -- Kentucky's U.S. senators are lashing out at President Barack Obama on Tuesday as the president called for tough new pollution regulations on America's coal plants.
In a speech at Georgetown University, Obama said carbon pollution limits need to be set on U.S. power plants in order to curb global warming.
"He may as well call his plan what it is: a plan to ship jobs overseas,” Sen. Mitch McConnnell said. "Basically, it's unilateral economic surrender.”
Obama says scientists concur that the earth warming and that human activity contributes to it. He says the debate over climate change has been put to rest.
