INDIANAPOLIS (WHAS11) -- An Indiana Senate panel says yes to a bill that would make it a crime to take pictures or shoot video at Indiana farms and businesses without the owner's permission.

Supporters say the bill targets so-called vigilantes who go onto private property with the intent of getting undercover photos or videos.

Indiana's director for the Humane Society of the United States says taking away whistleblower protections related to the nation's food supply is dangerous.

The bill now goes to the full senate for consideration.
