Debate is already roaring in Washington D.C. over the healthcare overhaul bill.
The Senate passed a measure to move the bill to debate Saturday night.
That set off a firestorm of opinion on the political talk shows including from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
He says the bill ignores the wishes of the American people and that some democratic senators share his concerns.
McConnell said, “ I believe there are a number of Democratic senators who do care what the American people think and are not interested in this sort of arrogant approach that everybody sort of says 'shut up and sit down, get out of the way, we know what's best for you.”
Rank and file democrats say they won't support a bill that's watered down by handful of holdouts.
But if they lose one vote, republicans could filibuster.
Still, some democrats say the hard part's over.
“ I think now the wind is at our back. Every Democrat from the most liberal to the most conservative, very much wants to get a bill,” said Senate Schumer.
Senators now go home for the thanksgiving recess before coming back for an intense debate.
