(WHAS11)  The front-runners in the hotly contested republican primary, for U.S. senate in Kentucky, are now debating their debates.

Secretary of State Trey Grayson said he has accepted the debate invitations of at least five organizations across the commonwealth.

But the campaign manager for rival Rand Paul, David Adams, is crying foul saying in part:

“We were tipped off about a month ago that the Grayson campaign had supporters working to set up rigged events, to attempt to rescue his failing effort.”

And Grayson’s spokesman blasted back:

“The chaos at the Paul campaign must be getting to David.  We received these invitations from sponsoring organizations and accepted the invitations because these are the events that work with our schedule; nothing more to it than that.”
