The current and the future VA hospital will now bear the name of Kentucky’s last World War I era veteran.

Tuesday, the Senate passed the Military Construction VA Appropriations Bill which included Senator Mitch McConnell's request to rename the hospitals after Robley Rex.

McConnell says Robley Rex is a true Kentucky hero and was one of the bluegrass state's best known veterans.

Rex died in late April he was 107-years-old.
