LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)— In 1993, Nelson Mandela was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize and that same year he visited the Mayor of New York City. Jerry Abramson was the Mayor of Louisville at the time and he was invited to a luncheon with nearly 15 other people to meet Mandela.
Abramson is the current Lt. Governor of Kentucky and tonight he joined Doug Proffitt in the WHAS11 studio to share his memories on the visit he will never forget.
