FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Gov. Steve Beshear has signed a bill into law allowing the sale of $4 million in bonds to pay for a hangar at Bluegrass Station in Fayette County.
Beshear signed the bill Monday morning, just days after the House and Senate gave their approval.
Democratic state Rep. Don Pasley of Winchester said construction is set to begin in early March to comply with timelines set by the U.S. Department of Defense, which will make the bond payments.
Beshear said no state general fund dollars would be used to pay for construction.
Bluegrass Station is a former Army depot that now houses several military contractors.
